Joseph Benjamin Circelli, Jr., entered into eternal rest on July 12, 2012. A resident of Virginia Beach, Va. , Joseph was born in Norfolk, Va. on March 2, 1949. He was the eldest son of the late Floy Linton Creekmore and Joseph Circelli Sr. He was a graduate of Norfolk State University and an Army Veteran. Upon leaving the Army, he completed an apprenticeship in the bricklayer's union and served both as a brick mason and later as the vice chairman of the Norfolk Chapter of Bricklayers Union Local One. Most recently he worked as a member of Job Corps. A devout Catholic, he was a member of The Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Norfolk, Va. Joseph loved worshipping the Lord with his prayer group, reading, playing golf, and traveling. He leaves to cherish his memories, two sons from his previous marriage to Priscilla Circelli Gibbs, Benjamin and Jonathan of Virginia Beach, Va., two brothers, Robert Circelli and Charlie Creekmore, two sisters, Regina Petty and Nancy Starke. He also leaves behind a host of nephews and nieces and their families. A funeral mass will be held on July 21, 2012 at noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Norfolk, Va. A private interment will follow at a later date.
