At approximately 4:22 PM on Saturday November 10th 2012, Joshua Raim Kalphat-Lopez was taken from us. All that have known Josh understand what a profound loss this is. There were many things about Josh that were quite unique in our time. In the 13th chapter of the 1st Book of Corinthians, the Apostle Paul sets out to describe the effects of love. I use the word "describe" because by its nature, love cannot be adequately defined. It is characterized by action. As my wife insists, "love is a verb… not a noun".
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails…"
More than most I have met in my lifetime, Josh exercised love seemingly effortlessly. He was always patient and kind with everyone, never vaulting himself above anyone, never envious, and generous beyond his own well-being

To such a loving giving person...our son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend: Josh was beautiful in ways that were divine blessings. No one could love anyone and everyone so unconditionally from the get go. And always sharing his huge smiles and affirming words with everyone. He loved to laugh and Josh would literally give to anyone who had need...even if it was his last penny. He only ever put out positive energy, love and tolerance in a way most could not comprehend. Josh's family has not only lost a beloved son and brother, cousin, grandchild and great grandson...but the world has lost a rare soul who loved with absolue purity.
