Mrs. Joyce Leigh Stanley Smith

Mrs. Joyce Leigh Stanley Smith, 78, of Sandston, VA passed away peacefully at home August 17, 2012. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Samuel G. Smith (Sam) and her son James (Jim) Smith. She is survived by her devoted son, David Smith of Sandston and grandson, Samuel G. Smith II of Ashland; loving daughter-in-law who was like a daughter Georgia B. Smith; sister, Margaret Johnson of Highland Springs; brother, George A. Stanley (Sonny) and wife Judy; two sister-in-laws, Lily and husband, Randy Ladd and Gloria Smith of Winchester; nieces and nephews, Terry Walker and husband, Kenny, Kathy McGinnis and husband, "Buddy", George Stanley, Jr. and George "Benjy" and Judy Clayton and many beloved great nieces and nephews. She also had many lifelong friends, Mac and Tina McKinney and her Poker Buddies, The "Turtles", Anna Gutzke, Elanor Proffitt, Trudy West, Craig Proffitt, Kent Proffitt and Linda Sites. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 22, 2012 5-7PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231, a service will follow at 7PM at the same location.
