Karen Hendrix Evans, 52, of James City County, passed away on December 8, 2012. A graduate of Lafayette High School, Karen worked as an administrative assistant for CDR (Child Development Resources). She was also a member of Smith Memorial Baptist Church. Karen is survived by her loving husband, Milton "Tommy" Evans; son, Lance Evans; and her granddaughter who was the "light" of her life, Kailey Cook Evans. She will also be missed by her mother, Ms. Betty Taylor of Williamsburg; brother, Kerry Hendrix Sr. of Hampton; sisters, Evon Thompson, Vickie Reining and Sherree Walker, all of Williamsburg; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 12 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 13 at Smith Memorial Baptist Church, 6515 Richmond Rd., Williamsburg. Interment will follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
