BANKS, Kathryn "Kitty" Leistra Johnson, 90, of Ashland, devoted Mother and widow of the late John Asa Banks, Jr., died on July 26, 2012. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Asa and Martha Banks and Jim and Hollis Banks; a daughter and her husband, Terry and Mark Clark; eight grandchildren, John, Charlie, and Paul Banks, Jamie Banks and his wife Danell, Colby and Drew Banks, Katie Dohrman and her husband Kent, and Roy Fuller; and four great-grandchildren, Robert Banks, Brookelynn and Kennedy Banks, and Quinn Dohrman. She is also survived by two sisters, Virginia Thompson and Elsie Nichols, and a brother and two sisters-in law, Clyde and Barbara Jean Johnson and Mary Johnson. Mrs. Banks was a member of New Hanover Presbyterian Church in Mechanicsville. The family is grateful to her dedicated caregivers including Brenda Brown, Nori Belt, and the staff of Alpha House. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA on Saturday, July 28, 2012, where services will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery, Ashland, VA.
