On August 5, 2012 Lance Lee Foor of Williamsburg, VA lost his courageous battle with cancer at the young age of 62 at the Hunter Holmes VA Medical Center in Richmond, VA.

Lance was born to Harold and Ruth Pollock Foor on August 9, 1949 in Roswell, NM. Lance is survived by his mother, Ruth Foor; his brother, Larry Foor; his four children, Cherna Williamson, Chris Foor, Les Foor and Joey Foor (Amanda Foor); and his four grandchildren, Brian, Daniel, Allyson, and Scarlet. Lance is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Lance was a beloved father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Lance was an accomplished U.S. Marine who served in Vietnam as a parachute inspector and ejection seat mechanic.

Lance was always fond of airplanes and obtained his solo pilot's license and enjoyed the freedom being in the air gave him. Lance was a member of the Nansemond Guards Co. E 6th VA. Inf. C.S.A. for more than twenty years and loved every minute of being on the firing line with his friends and teammates.
Lance was beloved by many people in Williamsburg that were fortunate enough to know him. He had friends from all walks of life and never treated anybody without respect. He was able to pass along these traits to his children who will not let his teachings die with him.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 8 from 6-8 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg, VA. Please dress casually as Lance would have. Interment will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.nelsencares.com.
