Mr. Lawrence Edsel Pilgrim, age 70, of McDonough, GA passed away September 27, 2012. He was born in Jefferson, AL the son of the late Rader Connie and Ruth Nancy Wendt Pilgrim. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching TV, sports, fishing, being active in his church, singing, and an avid Alabama Fan. He was a member of West Sunnyside Pentecostal Church. He was preceded in death by wives, Connie Blackstock Pilgrim and Judy Mosely Pilgrim; daughter, Lisa Stephenson; and several siblings. Survivors are his wife, Frankie Pilgrim of McDonough; children, David Pilgrim (Becky) of West Columbia, SC, Billy Hobby (Elaine) of McDonough, Ray Hobby (Starla) of Hampton, Terry Hobby (Lenola) of Jackson, Sharon Goddard (Tony) of Stockbridge, and James and Marie Brooks of Stockbridge; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Florence Blackstock of Rutledge, Jeanette David of Alpharetta, AL, Betty Payton (J.D.) of Irondale, AL, and Sara Sims of Irondale, AL; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mr. Pilgrim will be Monday, October 1, 2012 – 11:00 AM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Smith Sr and Rev. Joe Kerbo officiating. Interment will be at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 4 – 6:00 PM.
