Lillian Ketty Schatter Newcombe, 73, of Summerville, SC, wife of Robert William Newcombe died Thursday, January 24, 2013. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 5:00 pm.
Mrs. Newcombe was born June 13, 1939 in Skanderborg, Denmark, raised in Aalborg, Denmark and immigrated to the US in July 1961. She was the daughter of the late Sven Aage Schatter and the late Else Joahanne Cecelia Andreasean Schatter. Mrs. Newcombe was a very accomplished artist and quilter. She enjoyed hand crafts and created jewelry. She was a homemaker, chef and baker.
She is survived by her husband, Robert William Newcombe of Summerville, SC, daughters, Theresa Sue Rogers of Fairborn, OH and Kathryn Anne Price of Mt. Olive, NC; sister, Annelise Elizabeth Clausen of Aalborg, Denmark; granddaughter, Shannon Marie Lee of Seven Springs, NC; grandsons: Robert Michael Rogers at Wittenberg College in Springfield, OH and John Price of Mt. Olive, NC; great-grandson, Zachory Lee of Seven Springs, NC; great-granddaughter, Alyssa Lee of Seven Springs, NC; brother-in-law, John Newcombe of Lockhart, TX; sister-in-law, Janet Bye, Lexington, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
