Lois Davis Hamlet, 83, of Chesterfield, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 25, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, George R. Davis and Mamie C. Davis; and brother, Waverly Davis (Bubba). Lois was a member of the Ft. Lee Baptist Church in Richmond, VA. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, Joy Club, and the Manchester Women of the Moose. She is survived by two sisters, Joyce Mary Ragland and Yvonne Louise Mantlow; her loving and devoted husband, Elwood Hamlet; six children, Vickie Kegley, Ronald Allard (Gay), Donna Loehr, Robert Allard, Sherrie Gleason (Keith), and Elwood Hamlet, Jr. (Skipper); eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, VA 23231. A service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Ft. Lee Baptist Church, 2727 Charles City Rd. Richmond, VA 23231. Interment will be in Maury Cemetery, Richmond, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Samaritan's Purse in care of Ft. Lee Baptist Church, 2727 Charles City Rd. Richmond, VA 23231.
