Louise Ward Deaver
Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother

Louise Ward Deaver, 88, of The Williamsburg Landing, died peacefully in her sleep on January 25, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, William Nelson Deaver; her son, William Nelson Deaver, Jr. and his wife, Sharon Schoolar Deaver; and family including two granddaughters, their spouses, and eight great-grandchildren. Her niece and husband will join the family in the burial at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia, on Friday morning, February 1, followed by a Memorial Service and reception at 2 p.m. in the Auditorium of The Williamsburg Landing. Friends of the Deaver family are invited to attend the Memorial Service and reception.

Louise was an accomplished craftsman, excelling at all the arts she pursued including pottery, basket weaving, gourmet cooking, needlepoint, embroidered paintings, and hand-stitched quilts. Many items that she submitted in competitions received awards and/or honorable mentions. She leaves a wealth of beloved artistic items for her family to treasure. Her family gratefully and prayerfully will remember her kindness and generosity.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you remember Louise with a gift in her honor to The Benevolence Fund at The Williamsburg Landing, 5700 Williamsburg Landing Drive, Williamsburg, VA 23185. Online condolences may be expressed at www.nelsencares.com.
