Martin and Family,

My heartfelt simpathy goes out to you on the loss of Luke. I have many fond memories of Luke at the parties we used to go to. My thoughts and prayers go out to you during your time of sorrow.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Bannister family.

Luke will always be that tall, deep voiced, good looking cousin ready to help 'Aunt Lil' with whatever was broken. I remember him at the Diary Queen in Virginia Beach but also the family picnics at Yorktown!! What fun days and memories those still are. It saddens me to say goodbye to yet another member of our family--so many have left us too soon.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time. May most of the memories shared tonight be happy ones.

Luke, you are a "larger than life" cousin and will sorely be missed, as will hearing "Sammy" with that deep, sonorous voice of yours (only relatives and the closest of friends get away with calling me that!).

As sad as I am, and I know your family must be, too, I cannot help but think of the party that must be underway on the other side . . . it truly boggles the mind to reflect for even a moment those that are in attendance: Not a shy, retiring personality among the bunch of them! And, there is no doubt where the party is being held: At the Beach, of course! (The Dairy Queen on 27th is supplying a few of Luke's "special" shakes to keep things moving!).

So, until we meet again, give my love to all on the other side, and know that you, too, are loved and missed.

I remember one time Luke took me, my sister and Beth out to lunch in Richmond and then took us on a hilarious "our family use to own that" tour of Richmond. Hilarious, and maybe a little bittersweet. : )
