Mabel A. McClure Estep Rule, 85, of Ashland, VA, formerly of Huntington, WV, passed away on March 6, 2012. Mabel was preceded in death by her husbands, Norris M. Estep and Rev. W. Kendall Rule. Mabel is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Charles York of Richmond, VA; her two grandchildren, Kristen Wettstein (Thomas) of Chester, VA, and Peter York (Natalia) of Alexandria, VA; and three great-granddaughters, Emma and Kathrine Wettstein and Elizabeth York. She is also survived by a sister, Ruth Roberts of Fredericksburg, VA; and a brother, David McClure of Micronesia. Mabel was preceded in death by her two sisters, Beuna Price and Emily Stephens; and a brother, Darrell McClure. She was a member of Baptist Temple and retired from the VA Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA.
