Mary Dinwiddie Crow Gill, widow of Dr. James Thomas Gill, died December 27, 2011. She was born June 9, 1913 in Raleigh, NC to Mary Dinwiddie Crow and Edmund Burwell Crow. After graduation from Peace College in Raleigh, NC she moved to Richmond in 1933, where she was married in 1938. They raised their family there until moving to Ashland, VA in 1965. She had lived with her elder daughter, Mary Mena Koches, and her family in Hanahan, SC since 2006. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Mary Mena and Chuck Koches of Hanahan, SC; Virginia and Bill Edmunds of Herndon, VA; Tom and Laurie Gill of Boone, NC; and Charles and Della Gill of Southern Shores, NC. She is survived by 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at The Fork Church (Episcopal), Doswell, VA at 2 PM on Saturday, December 31, 2011. A reception will follow in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The Fork Church, 12566 Old Ridge Rd.
