Melvin Perry Elliott, 86 of Ruther Glen died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011 at Mary Washington Hospital.

Born in Ft. A. P. Hill in Caroline County he retired after 32 years from Massaponax Sand and Gravel. After he retired he worked for the Caroline County trash site in Ladysmith and was a member of County Line Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Carter Elliott: three half-sisters, Leola Armstrong, Helen Ramsey, and Thelma Hunt; a half-brother, Frank Philips and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 3 pm Sat. Dec. 17, 2011 at County Line Baptist Church, Ruther Glen with Dr. Fred Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16 at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green.
