Millicent (Dinwiddie) "Millie" Bowry, 83, of Williamsburg, and formerly of Campbell County, passed away on July 6, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Watson and Elizabeth Dinwiddie.

Millie worked for Sentara Williamsburg (formerly Williamsburg Community Hospital) as an insurance administrator for 34 years. She was also a member of Jamestown Presbyterian Church. In her spare time, she could be found bowling, traveling and sewing. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved shopping with her girls and enjoyed a quiet evening watching old-time movies at home with her husband.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, James Burns Bowry; daughters, Glinda Bowry Walker (Richard) of Williamsburg and Bobbie Bowry Walsh (Bill) of Yorktown; grandchildren, Martinee Avery (Shawn), W.J. Walsh IV, Shelley Quick, Ryan Walker (Kari) and James Brannon Walsh; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Riley, Jack, Betsy, Mason and Marcus; and siblings, Gene Dinwiddie, Ruth Middleton and Charles Dinwiddie.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 10 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg. Services will be held at Jamestown Presbyterian Church, 3287 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg on Wednesday, July 11 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
