Wenzel, Neil Stephen, 55, of Montpelier, passed away on December 3, 2012 after a brief battle with lung cancer and joined his son, Luke Daniel Wenzel and his father, Lee Bey Wenzel. Neil is survived by Donna Wenzel; his children Mary, Katherine, John, Lee, Mark, Jacob, Claire, Teresa, Emily and Joseph; his mother Barbara Wenzel; siblings Teri, Mark, Christy, Dean, Julie, Lisa, Kent and Todd; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Neil had three loves – God, his children and golf. He was known to family and friends as "Father of Many". He was devoted to his children and they were his source of pride and joy. Neil did not seek to accumulate material goods, but instead his time was spent building memories for his children to carry and cherish throughout their lifetime. When he was not with his children, he could be found at church or on the golf course. Neil had an amazing sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and had a knack for making everyone he met feel special. They truly broke the mold when Neil was born, and there will never be another man like him. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 am on Monday, December 10, 2012 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Ashland, VA. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery. Nelsen Funeral Home, Ashland, VA will be handling the arrangements.
