2. My memories of Paul are only of his gentle nature, always. I came to faith in Christ in December of 1974, I was away from my home in Texas, and began to attend First Baptist Church of Encinitas. Paul and Joyce reached out to me, then just a youngster of 23 years old, and showed me kindess and encouragement as I sought to learn about this new Christianity that had embraced me. I soon needed a new living situation and they welcomed me to live in their small apartment, which I did for about 6 months. They became my parents away from home, and I basqued in their generosity of spirit, and truly adored the role models they became for me of Christian love.

   Dear Paul always displayed a gentle nature, kind, and a servant of all those around him. I never once saw a cross word from him or Joyce. My heart is full of thankfullness to God for having put Paul and Joyce into my life.

   I look forward to meeting him in Heaven for the fellowship of God's saints. To God be the glory, great things He has done!!!!!
