Raymond Douglas "R. D." Cooper, 65, of Bowling Green died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at his home. Born in Caroline, he graduated from Virgina Tech and retired after 41 years as a mechanical engineer at NSWC Dahlgren. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Gentleman's Club of Caroline. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Louise Cooper. Survivors include his wife, Terry L. Cooper; his son, Raymond Douglas "Doug" Cooper and his wife, Jeanie of Milford; his daughter, Madelyn Cooper Sylvia and her husband, Jordan of Woodford; his sister, June Satterwhite of Milford and five grandchildren, Kelsey, Kassidy, Kolby, Haylie and Gracelyn. A funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, September 4 at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, Shumansville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends6-8 pm Monday at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. Memorial contributions may be made to www.curesarcoma.org.
