Robert R. Helm, Jr

83, of Indianapolis passed away February 3, 2013. He was born December 12, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Robert Sr and Catherine (Campbell) Helm. Bob worked for Sharp Ford and he retired from Wabash Ford Trucks after many years of dedicated service. He served in the United States Navy and he was a member of the Elks Lodge #13 and International Order of Foresters. Bob shared a passion for building and racing sprint cars. He loved watching the Indiana Fever, Pacers and Colts. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by brothers, Phillip and Bill Helm and sister, Mary Blocher. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years…Bernice Hatfield Helm. Children, Robert R. Helm, III (Karen) of Phoenix, AZ, Marion Fisher (Steve), Frances McClure, and Michael Helm (Donna) of Westfield, IN; Grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Recker, Kellie and Rick Fisher, Angela (Michael) Lewis, Ashley Helm, Michael Helm, Brittney Helm, Austin Helm, and Jeffrey Helm and Erin McClure and Great Grandchildren, Allison Johnson, Andrea Helm, Abigail Seffern, Aden Fisher, Carson and Lucas Recker, and Kobe McClure; and a host of loving relatives and friends. Dad will be missed, but will live on in our hearts forever. Friends may call on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 4pm-8pm in Flanner and Buchanan –Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive Indianapolis, IN 46228. Funeral Service will follow on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11am at Flanner and Buchanan Washington Park North. Burial will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens.
