Mrs. Rose (Nuccio) Amara, 83, of Pacoima CA, died on November 21st at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Salvatore Amara for 49 years.
Born and raised in Lynn, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Contino) Nuccio. She was a 1947 graduate of Lynn Classical High School and later attended beautician school. She was a registered beautician for many years in the Lynn area prior to her marriage and subsequent move to California in 1969.

Mrs. Amara was devoted to her family. Always up to the challenge, she was happiest when she could prepare a meal for as many of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren that could attend, especially during the holidays. Rose loved the holidays and made sure her family had wonderful memories of her decorating her house for Valentines, St. Patricks, Easter, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. With Rose only one thing mattered, family always came first.

Always humble, Mrs. Amara knew that living well is simply based on how much one laughs and how often one loves. She gladly accepted and dedicated her life to filling her role as wife, mother, and grandmother. She always looked for the best in others and did all these things with the best she had.

Besides her husband Mrs. Amara leaves four sons, Mario of Quartz Hill, Salvatore Jr. of Sun Valley, Sebastian of Newhall, and Joseph of Santa Clarita, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Angelina of Florida and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Florinda and the sister of the late Peter J. Nuccio, Michael L. Nuccio, Joseph V. Nuccio and the Rev. Anthony A. Nuccio.
