Roy Davis, 86, died Sunday, December 9, 2012 in Williamsburg, VA. Born in Cary, NC on November 1, 1926, he was a Raleigh native, who served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He studied engineering in Louisville, KY, graduated from Guilford College, and also took postgraduate classes at Texas Tech. As an Electrical Engineer, Roy was employed by Western Electric in both Greensboro and Winston Salem, NC, and retired as a Senior Engineer after 25 years of service. He later worked for Litton Corporation in Warner Robbins, GA, and at Northern Telecom in Research Triangle Park, NC. Roy was an avid golfer who enjoyed woodworking, and was a member of Telephone Pioneers. As a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church he served as an Elder, Deacon, and Head Usher.

Roy is survived by his loving wife of eleven years, Barbara Brittain Davis, his daughter and son-in-law, Lou Ann and Carson Brisson, grandsons, Jason Brisson and Evan Brisson; step-daughter, Bonnie Hall and husband, Bill, and stepson, Jim Brittain and wife, Dayle, and their family, as well as sister-in-law, Catherine Davis, and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty years, Lee Ward Davis; his mother, Ann Wallace Davis; and father, Charles Marcus Davis; brothers, Charles Davis, Harry Davis, and Buster Davis; and sisters, Gladys Fowler and Eloise Stephens.

Memorial services will be held at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 215 Richmond Rd., Williamsburg, VA on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 11 AM and in the Chapel at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 2 PM. Interment will be at Raleigh Memorial Park.
