Ruth C. Minter, 84, of Hopewell passed away Monday, July 11, 2011 at her home. Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over fifty years, Edward B. Minter, parents, Irving P. and Mary Pleasant Crutchfield and a sister, Ann Livesay. Mrs. Minter was a loan officer with Sun Trust Bank for thirty years and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by four sons, Ronald L. Minter, Sr. (Betty), Clarence Minter (Patricia), Jerry Minter (Heidi) and Jesse Minter (Deborah), twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, a brother, David Crutchfield, two sisters, Bea Jones and Shirley Layne. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell and where funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday, July 14, 2011 with Dr. Michael Browder officiating, Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park
