Salvadore (Sal) Gerald Trapani, a native of New Orleans and resident of Metairie passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the age of 75. He is survived by his son Salvadore J. Trapani and daughters, Lisa Shumate, Gina Moore and Toni Trapani. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Trapani and half-brother Victor Trapani, sons-in law Chris Shumate and Jerry Moore, his wife of 30 years Barbara Alleman and grandchildren Capt. William Shumate, Jr. and wife Jacqueline, Caroline Shumate, Alexander Moore and Ashton Trapani.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antoinette Trapani Moore and Victor Trapani and stepfather Raymond Moore. He was born July 24th, 1937 and graduated from St. Matthias Elementary and De La Salle High School where he was active in the Alumni Association. He worked in the vending business most of his career and never met a stranger. Sal was loved by all who knew him for his kind heart and sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.
