On September 3rd 2012, Sampson D. Fiddie III passed away quietly at his home in Ruckersville Va. He was known as Sam to his friends and Bronson to those who saw him at Sam's Club.
He was born May 19, 1948 in Charleston S.C. the eldest son of Sampson and Barbara Fiddie. He graduated from St. Andrews High School and then Trident Technical College. He worked for the State of North Carolina then the North Carolina Zoo until retiring. Then he went to work for Sam's Club until retiring again in 2010. He was then finally able to devote all his time to his family and fishing.
He is survived by a loving family who will miss him greatly, his devoted wife Martha Fiddie of Ruckersville, his mother Barbara Fiddie, brother Ralph and sister-in-law Beth Fiddie of Charleston SC, daughter Tiffany Hardy of Covington GA, daughter Rhonda, her husband Chris and granddaughters Allyson and Christina Hardin from Ruckersville, son Michael and his wife Mandy Smith of Lumberton NC, his Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Bill Townsend, his two favorite nieces Melissa McKnight, Misty Johnson and their families, and numerous Aunts and Uncles, and his faithful companion Bandit.
He was preceded in death by his father Sampson Dewey Fiddie Jr. and Grandparents Sam and Helena Fiddie, Ralph and Islea Anderson, and Margaret Chapman Bruenr.

A memorial service will be held Sunday Sept. 9th at 4pm at Laurel Hill Baptist Church located at 3595 Grand Forks Blvd and Airport Road Charlottesville, VA. Everyone is invited to stay for a meal with the family after the service.
