Sharon Thomas Dereski, 66, of Disputanta passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 at her home. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, John Wayne Dereski, Sr., her mother, Lucy Thomas and her best friend, Jean Swede. She is survived by two sons, John Wayne Dereski, Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, Michael Anthony Dereski and his wife, Kathy Miller, a daughter, Kimberly D. Walker and her husband, Mark, four grandchildren, Mark Anthony Walker, Jr., Bret Steven, Matthew Steven and Tiffany Marie Dereski, two brothers, Monte and Gary Thomas, sister, Judy Earhart and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday, March 20, 2011 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell and where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, March 21, 2011 with Rev. Robert Livesay and Hugh Mumford officiating. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens
