Shirley Edwards Jackson, born in Richmond, Virginia in 1931, passed away on Friday June 22, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Jackson. She is survived by her son, Edwin W. Parker, Jr. and his wife Susan Powell Parker; two grandchildren, Terry Lynn Evans and Edwin W. Parker, III; six great-grandchildren; nephew George Wesley Bain; niece, Rosemary K. Guyton and her husband Malcolm "Mac" Guyton; two great nephews; three great nieces and her beloved dog Fancy. Mrs. Jackson was a retired employee of C&O Railroad. The family will receive friends Monday, June 25, 2012 from 4-8PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond VA 23231. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 2:30PM. Interment to follow at Washington Memorial Park.
