Sue Fletcher McGee, 73, a long time resident of Ashland, went to be with Jesus on May 22, 2012. Sue, born and raised in Honaker, VA, was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bessie Fletcher. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 53 years, Guy McGee, son Guy W. McGee (Barbara) of Poquoson, VA, daughter Susan Stauffer (Mark) of Ashland; sister, Ruth Duff (Bob) of Daniels, WV; grandchildren, Bob McGee (Jessica), Virginia McGee Jones (Matthew), Michael McGee, Brian Stauffer (fiancée Laura), Rob Stauffer, Katherine Stauffer, and one great grandson on the way. Sue graduated from Honaker High School and later completed her studies as a lab technician at Bluefield College. She worked a variety of jobs from lab tech to office manager and finally retired after 20 years of service as an administrative assistant with Mutual of America in Richmond. Sue was a longtime member of Winn's Baptist Church, Glen Allen, and her memory will be cherished for her devotion to her family, church, and friends. The family will receive friends at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 2:00-4:00PM and 6:00-8:00PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, May 25, 2012, at Winn's Baptist Church, 12320 Winn's Church Road, Glen Allen, followed by interment at the church cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Winn's Baptist Church Youth Program.
