Sung C. Choi (B.S., M.A. University of Washington, Seattle; Ph.D. UCLA) held professorships at Washington University in St. Louis and more recently, at the Medical College of Virginia, where he served on the faculty of the Department of Biostatistics from 1978 until his retirement in 2003. After some months of illness, he passed away peacefully at his Richmond-area home on Saturday July 21, 2012, with his wife, Elizabeth, and daughter, Tina, by his side. He will be sorely missed.
