Patriotic Emblem

Sylvia Marie Rickmon, resident of Charlottesville, Virginia, endeared mother and grandmother went peacefully to her home in heaven on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at the age of 84. She is survived and loved by four generations of family. Children, Brenda Hamilton Dvorscak, John Dvorscak, Lisa Rickmon Garber and Freddie Garber. Grandchildren, Melissa Sprouse Curry, Tina Spouse Samuels, Keith Samuels, Wendy Sprouse Edwards, Torian Edwards, Ashley Dvorscak Harden and Blake Harden. Great-Granddaughters, Grace Samuels, Anna Samuels, Arianna Edwards, Lillian Harden. Great-Grandsons, Dallas John Curry, Dylan Samuels, Ayden Edwards. Great-Great Grandson, Connor Curry. She was preceded in death by one Great-Grandson, Anthony Wade Sprouse.

Sibi, a nickname she adored, was born on July 4, 1928 in Ashland, Virginia.. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Charlottesville. Sibi retired from Sunburst Yarns, Inc. in 1989 and continued to work for Cavalier Insurance until 2011.

There will be a memorial service held at First Baptist Church, 735 Park Street, Charlottesville, Virginia on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11 a.m.. The church will open one hour prior to the service at 10 a.m. to receive friends and family who are also encouraged to stay for the service. Following the service, everyone is invited to stay for lunch and a time of reflection and remembrance.

Sibi's lifelong wish was to be laid to rest next to her mother. A private burial will be held in Fishersville, Virginia prior to the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church, 735 Park Street, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
