Theresa A. Gaskin of North Little Rock formerly of Springdale passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012. She was born March 12, 1921 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Delbert Earl and Shadye (Haynes) Allen.
She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She spent her life caring for and loving children. She was honored with a lifetime membership to the National PTA after serving as the first President and founding member of the Parent Teacher Association at Lee Elementary in Springdale, Arkansas. She also served her church, First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in various positions, including teaching children's Sunday School classes for seventeen years and serving as Church Secretary.
Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Sandra Singletary of Nashville, Tennessee, Kathy Bolan of North Little Rock, Arkansas and Allyn and George Maher of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Lurline Bruner of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Allen Gaskin, son-in-law, Pat Singletary and granddaughter, Mindy Lynn Maher.
Private graveside service at Fairmount Cemetery in Gentry, Arkansas with nephew, The Reverend Lynn Eagan, officiating. Pallbearers are Pete Allen, Rick Allen, Brett Bolan, Lee Bruner, Hank Harrison, Tommy Martin and Louie Thomas. Poem read by George Maher.
