Thomas J. Varanavage, 76, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012 in Williamsburg, VA.
Tom was a devoted husband to his surviving wife of over 40 years, Eileen, and was a loving father to their surviving children, daughter, Julia, and twin sons, Thomas and Peter. He is also survived by his brother, Robert, and two grandsons.
He was born in Mahanoy City, PA on December 21, 1935 and resided in Falls Church and Williamsburg, VA.
Tom was a graduate of Thaddeus Stevens Trade School in Lancaster, PA and retired from the Navy Sealift Command and the Fairfax County School system. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council 10806 and Pioneer Hose Fire Company #1 in Robesonia, PA. He also served in the National Guard.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 18 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Wednesday, September 19 at 10:00 AM at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 104 Norge Lane, Williamsburg.
