HODGE, Thomas W. "Tommy", 62, of Sandston, VA passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2012. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Hodge and brother, Elbert Ray Hodge, Jr. Tommy was a truck driver for over 30 years and most recently a realtor. He was a member of the Sandston Baptist Church, active in RA's, Sandston Babe Ruth Baseball, District 3 Commissioner as well as the Assistant State Commissioner for Virginia. Tommy was an avid hunter and fisherman and a big old teddy bear. Tommy is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hodge; daughter, Lindsey Kitchen (Lucas); father, E. Ray Hodge, Sr. (Penny Cannon-Hodge); sister, Rhonda Fletcher (Daniel); son, Thomas Duane Hodge; daughters, Susie Kane (Dean), Tammy Royer (Kenny – fiancé); their mother, Patricia Hodge; grandchildren, Charlie, Chrissy, Whitney, Kelsey, M.J., Jack, Jacob and Levi; great-grandchildren, Christina and Steven; numerous extended family and close friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 17 from 6 – 8 p.m. and Saturday, August 18 at 1 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hanover Safe Place, 629 N. Washington Hwy #A, Ashland, VA 23005 or American Diabetes Association, 4335 Cox Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
