Army

W. J. Jeter, 94 of Benton, Kentucky died on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Lakeway Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton, Kentucky.

Mr. Jeter was a veteran of the US Army and served during World War II. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator for Reed Crushed Stone.

Born Tuesday, December 10, 1918 in Wayne Co., Tennessee, he was the son of the late Neal Jeter and the late Verna (Churchwell) Jeter. He was the husband of the late Mary Edith (Ray) Jeter.

Surviving are sons, Terry Jeter of Benton, KY, Randy Jeter, wife Lana of Benton, KY and Norman Jeter, wife Debra of Clarksville, TN, daughter, Linda Tolbert of Benton, KY, sister, Jean Carroll of Murphreesboro, TN, grandchildren, Shelley Noles of Benton, KY, Nikki Wilbanks of New Concord, KY, Clay Jeter of Los Angeles, CA, Chris Jeter of Benton, KY, Brittany Jeter of Benton, KY, Shaun Holland of Benton, KY, Lindsey Holland of Benton, KY, Clint Holland of Benton, KY, and great grandchildren, Audrey Noles, Jack Noles, Lauren Noles, Ethan Tate Jeter, Kenzie Briggs, Grady Holland, and Finn Wilbanks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Arnold Jeter, Guy Jeter, Ray Jeter, Fay Jeter, Claude Jeter, and sisters, Elizabeth Ann Brown, and Johnnie Sue Jones.

A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025.

Interment will follow in Benton Cemetery, Benton, KY.

Visitation will be held at the Collier Funeral Home between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013.
