Grafton: Waverly C. "Ravin" Belvin, 68, died August 21, 2012 at Mary Immaculate Hospital. Ravin loved being on the water and spent many hours crabbing the surrounding rivers, being from a generation of watermen. He enjoyed working in the yard and garden. Ravin was a kind and generous person who never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his father, Linwood Belvin; mother, Susie Brown Baker; and brothers, Hershel Belvin and Linwood "Bubby" Belvin, Jr.
He is survived by:
Sisters: Uldine Jenkins
Shirley Kellum and husband Healy
Audrey Hogge
Romania Hartman
Step-father: Ronald Baker
Best friend: Wayne Thomas
And a host of nieces and nephews
Funeral services officiated by Pastor Larry Jones will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
