William Charles Marshall, 62, of Richmond passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in McGuire Veterans Hospital. Mr. Marshall was a member of the Grove Avenue Baptist Church, life time member of the VFW, DAV, PVA and Hopewell American Legion Post 146, a physicians assistant for five years and a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, Peggy M. Marshall, five step-sons, Ronald Elmore, Mark A. Elmore, Darrell W. Elmore and his wife, Kelly, Steven C. Elmore and Christopher D. Elmore, fifteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, his parents, William John and Phyllis Maisenbach Marshall, two brothers, Wayne Marshall and Edward “Duke” Marshall, three sisters, Pam Baustian, Teresa Marshall and Lori Coe, very close friends Sallie and Sterling Nebett, also numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:30 pm Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Avenue and where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, June 3, 2011 with Dr. Mark Becton officiating. Interment will follow in Amelia Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
