William E. Anthony, Sr. "Bill" of Sandston, age 74, passed away on July 27, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Ann Nicely; his parents, Wilbur and Lula Anthony; brothers, Ernest Lee and Robert A. Anthony; sister, Betty Jean Randall. Bill was a Veteran and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, and was the former owner of Able Dental Lab. Bill loved to sing and he loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his three sons, William E., Jr. (Sheila), Jerry Lee (Lori) and Wendell Corey (Brooke); his grandchildren, Braxton, Heather, Hunter and Logan; his sisters, Alice M. Jordan and Ruth A. Thomas of Richmond, Margaret D. Hamlett of Sandston, Mary R. Hamlett of Pamplin, VA, Hazel A. Onderko of South Carolina and Lois A. Parr of Warsaw as well as many friends. The family will receive friends , Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 6PM to 8PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231 where a service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 2PM with burial to follow in Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill's memory to The Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research, 1820 W. Webster Avenue, Suite 304, Chicago, IL 60614 or to Virginia Cancer Institute, 7501 Right Flank Road, Suite 600, Mechanicsville, VA 23116.
