William F. McCloskey, 63, died Saturday, August 4, 2012 after a long and valiant struggle with prostate cancer. He was born in Renton, WA, and grew up in Sumner, WA. He graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and obtained a license as a Mechanical Engineer in 1978.

For the past 23 years he worked for Dominion Power at the Surry Nuclear Power Station, a job he truly enjoyed.

He loved sailing his boat with friends, and playing his guitar and banjo. He was an Eagle Scout.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Charlene; three sons, Patrick, Chris, and Terry; two granddaughters, Eryn and Lydia; a sister, Mary; and two brothers, John and Al.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 9 at 6:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM.
